The Yale University Office of Sustainability is one of the leading organizations promoting sustainability in higher education. Ariana worked with the Office of Sustainability and the Yale Community Carbon Fund to develop a customized web-based carbon footprinting tool for the Yale community to measure their impacts and offset them through improving energy efficiency in low-income housing in New Haven, CT.
The website guides Yale students, faculty, and staff through calculating the greenhouse gas emissions from their commuting, travel, building use, and waste disposal while educating them about climate change, human impacts, and carbon accounting. You can explore the tool yourself here.
